This little
house with the candy-cane rusty roof has always interested me, and I
have painted it several times. I found out just a couple of years ago,
that this house was owned by the uncle of noted author Max Evans, (Hi Lo Country; Spinning Sun,
Grinning Moon, etc.). Max Evans lived here
after getting off the bus in Lamy, NM to work on the San Cristobal
ranch, where he began the adventures he related in his fine books.
